This week the issue of lighting in our parks has been brought up due to an unfortunate event at Half Moon Bay Park. The community has made it clear that violence in our community will not be tolerated and we are all thinking about how we can make our parks safer moving forward.
The Half Moon Bay Community Association wants to help find a solution. We're asking members of the community to submit your feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org. We want to hear your safety concerns and ideas; please keep them constructive.
The submissions will be discussed by the HMBCA Board of Directors with the hope of identifying actions items that we can discuss with the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Police.
Everybody deserves to feel safe in their community and we are committed to working with all Half Moon Bay residents to make this happen.

We heard a rumour that the Easter Bunny has hidden his eggs at Half Moon Bay Park and needs help collecting them on Saturday, April 4th!
At 10am we're inviting the kids of Half Moon Bay to collect the eggs around the play structures and near the soccer field at Half Moon Bay Park. For every 10 eggs found the kids can exchange them for some chocolate!
The Easter Bunny is also looking for some volunteers to help get ready for the event earlier Saturday morning. Please contact Lisa Noseworthy, Director of Events, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help out.
River Run Park, Half Moon Bay Park, and Freshwater Parkette rinks are now closed for the season due to the warmer weather.
We sincerely thank our rink operators Jeff, Mike, and Keenan and the many volunteers for their hours of shovelling and braving extremely cold weather to keep these rinks going this season.
The boarded rink at River Run Park is now open!
You can check the status and conditions of all our rinks on our Parks page. Don't forget to check out the puddle rink at Half Moon Bay Park and we're hoping that the puddle rink at Freshwater Parkette will be ready soon.
