The HMBCA proudly announces the return of our annual community Easter Egg Hunt. Bring the kids out and let them fill their baskets with all the Easter eggs they can find. For every 10 eggs collected the kids can exchange them for a treat (nut-free table will be available). There will be some special royal and Jedi guests for the kids to meet and take pictures with, so don't forget to bring your cameras!
There will also be a special prize draw for a dinner for 2 at Kelsey’s Barrhaven, for any Half Moon Bay grownups that would like to register as a member of our community before or at the event. Registration with our organization allows you to access "member’s only" products, services, and information on our website and you will be automatically entered into any future registration prize draws – plus, it’s absolutely free! All HMBCA members will be eligible to win.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you to our official sponsors for this event:
What: The 2nd Annual HMBCA Easter Egg Hunt
When: Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10am to about 11am
(Rain Date: Saturday, April 26)
Where: Half Moon Bay Park
We got a tip that once again the Easter Bunny has hidden his eggs at Half Moon Bay Park and needs help collecting them on Saturday, April 19th!
At 10am we're inviting the kids of Half Moon Bay to collect the eggs around the play structures and near the soccer field at Half Moon Bay Park. For every 10 eggs found the kids can exchange them for some peanut-free chocolate! Kids under 4 will hunt near the play structure, and older kids near the soccer field.
To keep it fair for everyone, we ask that no hunting begin before the official start.
The Easter Bunny is also looking for some volunteers to help get ready for the event earlier Saturday morning. Please contact Lisa Noseworthy, Director of Events, at email@example.com if you can help out.
Thanks to everyone for helping us make our first HMBCA Easter Egg Hunt such a success! As volunteers, we’re never quite sure if we’re able to make an impact in our community or not. Is it worth it? Do people really care? Well, the turnout we saw on Saturday told us once and for all that there are a lot of residents in Half Moon Bay that really do care about community events, and the work we put in to them. We gave away 160 treat bags (which is way more than we had hoped) and managed to fill the park with laughter and excitement for over an hour! Speaking of the treat bags, we are very thankful, as well, to our sponsors Ross’ Independent Grocer and Jan Harder who supplied the treats for the kids and coffee for the adults.
As with all of our events, what we’ve learned from this year’s will make next year’s that much better.
Please go to our Flickr page to check out the photo gallery from the event. If you would like a photo removed simply email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will have it removed immediately.
When: Saturday, March 30th at 10:00am to about 11:00am Where: Half Moon Bay Park and soccer field
What: Kids under 4 can hunt around the playground, and older kids can hunt around the soccer field
Psst! Guess what? You’ll never believe this but we’ve actually been in contact with the Easter Bunny! Seriously. At least we’re pretty sure it was the Easter Bunny because the guy was furry, really tall, had HUGE ears and couldn’t stand still. So here’s the deal. We convinced Mr. E. Bunny to come down the morning of Saturday, March 30th and hide eggs all through Half Moon Bay Park and soccer field (yes the new one along Cambrian Road). At first we thought it would be fun for us (the Directors) to go find all the eggs and eat as much chocolate as we could but then we realized that an even better idea would be to invite all of the kids in the community to come to the park to find the eggs instead, so that’s what we’re doing. On Saturday, March 30th at 10:00am you’re invited to bring your kids down to the park and join in on the HMBCA Egg Hunt. Make sure to bring a basket because the kids will need to bring their plastic eggs up to the HMBCA tent to exchange them for regular or peanut-free chocolate. See you there!
