The 2013 HMBCA Community Garage Sale is quickly approaching, and this is your last chance to register your home to be featured on the printed map! This map will be handed out around the community on Garage Sale day so shoppers know where to go for the deals!
If you’d like your home to be featured on the printed map, register your Garage Sale by tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8 at 5:00pm.
You can still register your home after this time, but it will only be featured on the Garage Sale web page.
Now that the details of this year’s HMBCA Community Garage Sale are set, we need some volunteers to help out! Our first task is distributing flyers to homes in the HMBCA area (which includes HMB Tamarack, HMB Mattamy, The Meadows, and HMB South). This will take place within the next week or so. On the day of the Garage Sale (May 11th) we need help with the following:

We’re happy to announce that registration for the 2013 HMBCA Garage Sale is now open to our members!
As a HMBCA member you can register to have your address featured on a printed map that will be handed out around the community to let bargain hunters know exactly where to go!
You can also opt-in to have your address and some of your items for sale listed on a public Garage Sale web page. Listing your items makes it easier for shoppers to find exactly what they’re looking for!
The more houses that register on your street, the more traffic you will get, so make sure to tell your neighbours!
This year we’ve partnered with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline program to pick up some of your leftover items. The HMBCA has also negotiated an exclusive discount with 1-800-GOT-JUNK for participating homes. More information can be found on the Registration page.

Mark your calendars. Save the date. Tie a string around your finger. Whatever you need to do to remember that Saturday, May 11 is the day for the 2013 HMBCA Garage Sale! We know you have a bunch of questions (and frankly so do we) but we promise that we’ll be releasing more details over the next 2 weeks so check back here often and while you’re at it, tell as many people as you can!
Garage Sale season has officially begun and Health Canada is aware that many communities in Ottawa and surrounding areas are hosting neighbourhood garage sales.
